How does UpBlink connect to the internet?
A local WiFi network or a data hotspot is required (see below). If using a hotspot, just plug a compatible hotspot into the USB-A port of UpBlink (see below). Then just enter the wifi details of the hotspot into the UpBlink web UI.
How is the USB hotspot powered?
UpBlink controls power to the hotspot via the USB-A port incorporated, therefore only turning on the hotspot when upload is scheduled to conserve power. We have some suggested hotspots listed here but generally any 3G or 4G USB stick hotspot that creates a wifi network will work.
What USB hotspots do you recommend?
Please refer to the UpBlink manual here for the latest modem listing.
Any USB powered hotspot that plugs into a USB-A port for power (with no internal battery) and creates a local WiFi network should be suitable, however, there are some hotspots that are very power hungry and will not work such as the 'Jetpack' series of modems. UpBlink connects via WiFi to the hotspot to then upload footage.
There are many hotspots available in different parts of the world and there are different models being released all the time. We would love to hear which USB wifi hotspot you have used successfully.
WiFi hotspots with an internal battery that can be removed may be suitable, but you will have to test if the hotspot automatically turns on, when powered via the hotpot's USB charging port. This is because UpBlink turns power off to the hotspot between upload intervals to save power.
Does someone require a subscription to use the file upload feature (in addition to unit purchase?)
Yes, CloudX Pro.
What is the benefit to buying UpBlink over BlinkX and CloudX? Or is UpBlink just replacing this option?
CloudX Pro is not available when using BlinkX, only CloudX Lite. BlinkX paired with CloudX Lite provides status email notifications only. UpBlink with CloudX Pro provides status email notifications + image upload. Images can be viewed through the CloudX Pro web portal.
Is UpBlink compatible with the GoPro Plus upload feature?

How does UpBlink attach to the GoPro HERO5?
Unlike the HERO4 cameras, the HERO5 camera does not use a 30 pin connector on the back. Instead, the HERO5 uses a USB-C connection on the side of the camera. UpBlink is approximately the same height and width as the HERO5, and is designed to accommodate straps to attach to the camera or to our enclosures.
What housings does CamDo offer that have space for UpBlink and external battery packs?
UpBlink is typically used with our DryX and SolarX Outdoor Weatherproof Enclosures. These enclosures have space to house extra batteries and come with two power options, a 9Watt solar panel, or without a solar panel that is normally used for shorter deployments, when you can return regularly to recharge the batteries or if you have a permanent power supply available. The Outdoor Enclosures have space to fit up to two of our V44 (44watt-hour) battery packs.
How long will the battery last if I shoot some number of photos per hour?
Calculating battery life is non-trivial. It depends on the camera model, firmware version, SD card speed, lighting conditions, battery size, age of the battery, ambient temperature, and more. To help you understand the issues and to calculate estimated battery life, consult the Camera Power Consumption Study and our Time Lapse Calculator.
If I know approximately how long my project is, how do I determine the ideal interval between triggers?
The ideal shooting interval is normally determined by the length of the final time lapse video clip, capacity of the SD card or battery capacity available. Our Time Lapse Calculator can be used to help determine the ideal interval between photos as determined by these variables.
Why is "Always On" mode for batteries important?
Since UpBlink turns the camera off between triggers to conserve power, Always On mode is important to prevent the battery from automatically turning off due to periods of inactivity. Most of the USB battery packs on the market have an automatic power saving feature which turns off the battery if the battery is not constantly supplying power to a device. If the GoPro is turned off for more than a few minutes between triggers, the external battery might automatically shutdown due to inactivity. However, our V44 has two modes of operation, the standard Auto Off mode and an Always On mode. The Always On mode prevents the battery from automatically turning off when insufficient current is being drawn due to the camera being turned off by UpBlink to conserve power.
Does UpBlink retain the shooting schedule when power is removed or lost?
When all power is removed, UpBlink will retain the programmed shooting schedule as well as the clock time and date settings. When power is restored to UpBlink, it will resume the programmed shooting schedules.
Can I switch the SD card in the middle of a time lapse schedule?
Yes, the SD card is "hot swappable". If an interval occurs when the SD card is out of the GoPro, UpBlink will continue the shooting schedule by triggering the camera to turn on and off, however, no image will be taken since there is no SD card to save the image to.
How do I change UpBlink's shooting schedule in the middle of a project?
UpBlink's WiFi signal can be turned on or off by pressing the on-board WiFi button for 3seconds. UpBlink's WiFi only remains active for 15 minutes to program the new settings before the WiFi is automatically turned off to conserve power. If the camera is not easily accessible, we offer a Wired Remote that can be attached to UpBlink's 2.5mm Port1 for re-triggering the WiFi signal, as well as 2.5mm Extension Cables if a longer distance trigger is needed.
What can I connect to the circular jacks on my UpBlink?
Please connect only CamDo-approved accessories to these jacks unless you are experienced. Do not connect other equipment, especially voltage sources such as your solar panel or battery, to these jacks. Doing so could damage your UpBlink or camera.
Port1 on UpBlink can be used to activate UpBlink's WiFi signal using a wired remote (purchased separately).
UpBlink's Port2 is used for Motion Detection operation and information about this port is located in our Blink User Manual.

Our Solar Enclosures use a 9 Watt solar panel to recharge the included V44 battery. If your installation is in a particularly cloudy or rainy area we also have an 18W upgrade option for additional peace of mind.
Our outdoor enclosure is fitted with a sturdy aluminum mounting bracket that contains multiple ¼"-20 threaded holes on the top, back, and bottom for use with standard tripod screws. It also has 2 slots at the back for using straps to attach the enclosure to a pole. The solar panel is removable and attached to the top of the enclosure using a dual ball socket arm so it can be positioned for optimum sun exposure. The solar panel charges the included Lithium Polymer battery which outputs 5 volts to power the camera or other accessories in a weatherproof enclosure.

The enclosures are designed to be crushproof and dust tight. Inside the weather resistant enclosure contains an aluminum bracket designed to hold the GoPro camera, and CamDo Blink Time Lapse Controller. It is possible to access the SD card, or USB connector without removing the camera. If the camera needs to be replaced, the fit is extraordinarily tight, guaranteeing that the camera will be in the exact same position as before so there is no disruption to your time lapse footage positioning. The interior has space for extra batteries or other accessories such as our Motion Detector. The enclosure is fitted with a standard 67mm filter adapter and a neutral density UV optical glass “digital filter” is included. You can replace the filter with your filter of choice.

Our case has several mounting options for different situations. There are two ¼” locking holes, one on each side of the case, through which a padlock, bolts, or threaded rods can be used to secure the contents of the box.
There are 2 slots on the back of the aluminum mounting bracket which allow it to be easily attached to a pole or structure using straps such as hose clamps or zip ties. The tripod screw holes at the back of the bracket can then be used to angle the camera.

The aluminum mounting bracket has multiple tripod screw holes on the top, back, and bottom that can be used with any standard photographic tripod or mounting bracket with a normal tripod thread (¼"-20). ¼"-20 bolts are easily obtained from any hardware store if you are making your own mount. There are hundreds of different compatible mounting brackets and magic arm brackets.

How long does it take to charge the battery?
In direct sun, the V15 (4,000 mAH Lithium Polymer battery) will fully charge in approximately 5.5 hours using the previous 6W solar panel model. Our newer systems use a 9W solar panel option which can charge the included V44 battery typically in a day. Where it is particularly cloudy/rainy, we recommend our 18W upgrade option. The battery system incorporates protection against overcharging, over discharge, over current (short circuit), unusual voltage input, and temperature extremes.
Will the solar panel be able to keep my time lapse running indefinitely?
This would depend on the shooting cycle used and the sun exposure available in your location. We advise all customers to calculate their battery needs due to the many variables. We have a Time Lapse Calculator that can be used to help determine your ideal shooting interval and how long your battery should theoretically last using our controller boards and batteries. The Calculator also gives the rate at which the solar panel should be able to recharge your battery at your given location and with the panel angle that is used. Keep in mind that temperature, battery fatigue, and other electrical inefficiencies will prevent the camera from using the full battery capacity.
What is the original dust and water ingress rating of your enclosures? Can I submerge your SolarX or DryX enclosures?
The enclosures have an IP67 rating prior to installation of CamDo accessories. Our SolarX and DryX enclosures are not meant to be immersed in water.
How long will the battery last before it is discharged?
It depends on many factors including your latitude, the amount of sun and cloud during your shoot, the controller you are using, the camera you are using and the shooting schedule you have programmed. There are too many variables to give a perfect answer but we have created a Time Lapse Calculator to work out the best setup for your shoot in your location.
This uses our analysis of the power consumption of the various GoPro cameras and provides an explanation of how to calculate the theoretical battery life.
Practically, we have run the system indefinitely taking one picture every 15 minutes with the WiFi on, in Canada in the summer.

Most of the USB battery packs on the market have an automatic power saving feature which turns off the battery if the battery is not constantly supplying power to a device. If the GoPro is powered off for more than a few minutes between triggers, the external battery might automatically shutdown due to inactivity. However, our V44 and V15 battery packs have two modes of operation, the standard Auto Off mode and an Always On mode. The Always On mode prevents the battery from automatically turning off when insufficient current is being drawn due to the camera being powered off.
Refer to our support page here to make sure you are in "Always On" mode when setting up your system. Refer Step 2 of the guide.
Make sure to disconnect the battery from all devices to check this. If you hold down the power button for at least six seconds and the charge indicator flashes 3 times and stays lit for a second or two, you are now in Always On mode. If you hold down the power button for six seconds and the charge indicator flashes 3 times and then goes dark straight away, you are in Auto Off mode.
How can I avoid condensation on the lens?
Our enclosures have an integrated auto-pressure valve that equalizes the atmospheric pressure difference to reduce condensation. The IP67 micro vent allows air to pass through while preventing water from entering. If you need additional protection against condensation, the extra space in the solar enclosure allows for one or more sacks of desiccant to be inserted in the box. For even more protection, there are some products available to coat the lens, such as those used on ski-goggles. The standard 67mm threaded lens filter can also be replaced with another 67mm threaded lens that already has anti-fog characteristics or coating.
TIP: Condensation is a result of humid air being sealed in the box when you close it and condensing when there is a temperature change. Try to close the box in as dry an environment as possible. If you need additional protection against condensation, the extra space in the solar enclosure allows for one or more sacks of desiccant to be inserted in the box. For more information, Google for avoiding condensation in underwater cameras, where the problem is discussed at length by many experienced photographers.
Can I lock the case?
There are two ¼” locking holes, one on each side of the case, through which padlocks, bolts, or threaded rods can be used to secure the contents of the box.
Is it possible to separate the solar panel from the box?
Yes. The solar panel is removable and has a 4ft charging cable that enters the enclosure through a waterproof cable gland at the bottom of the enclosure.
Can I mount the solar panel remotely from the enclosure?
Yes. However, if you need to place the panel remotely from the enclosure, attention must be paid to the gauge of wire used to connect the solar panel to the battery. The connectors on the solar panel cable are 3.5mm outer diameter, 1.1mm inner diameter barrel power connectors. So you'll need one end male (M3.5x1.1), the other one end female (F3.5x1.1). A local electronics store will have these connectors. We recommend using the largest cable that can physically fit into the particular connector you source to minimize voltage drop from the panel to the battery. The voltage drop must not exceed 0.5 volts. A 16 AWG or larger wire is recommended for distances exceeding a few feet.
Alternative 1" ball mount accessories such as our Tough Claw can be used to mount the solar panel away from the enclosure using the sturdy dual ball socket system.
Which cables and adapters come with the system and what do I use to connect the battery to the solar panel?
The system comes with all necessary cables along with a number of useful adapters for charging phones and other cameras as well as the cables used to charge the battery.

Can I use this system to charge other devices as well?
Absolutely. The V44 battery pack can be used to charge any 5V device.
Can your systems be used for other purposes than GoPro cameras?
Yes. You can remove the GoPro mounting fixture to provide extra space for your equipment. The solar panel, battery, and enclosure can be used for your custom system or just used as a remote charging station for phones and other USB chargeable devices.
Does the enclosure O-Ring seal require special care?
The case is equipped with a hollow core EPDM gasket that has been designed to give superior performance and resist compressive deformation over time. To ensure a watertight seal, the gasket must be free of cuts, abrasions or tears. Debris or foreign material caught between the sealing rib on the bottom of the case and the gasket on the top of the case will prevent the case from sealing properly. A coat of an automotive type surface protector is recommended to help prevent dirt and debris from sticking to the seal. If the seal becomes damaged a replacement seal can be ordered from Cam-Do.com.
Special care should be taken to ensure that wires or cables do not get trapped in the door when it is closed. The power-claw latches can exert extreme force, resulting in damage to the cable and the O-ring seal.

Compatible with the GoPro HERO7/6/5/4/3 and HERO5 Session cameras and CamDo Solutions products.
Can the DryX enclosure be powered by mains power?
Yes. The DryX enclosure has a removable plug at the bottom that provides a 3/4" (19mm) hole to allow AC power or other cabling to enter the enclosure. A 5V 2A USB wall adapter can be used to power the camera system inside the enclosure.
If you would like more power reliability in case of power outages, the DryX enclosure has space to house our V15 or V50 batteries that can be used as an Uninterruptible Power Supply because they can supply power while charging and be used in an "Always On" mode.
How many battery packs can fit inside the DryX Enclosure?
The DryX enclosure can fit up to three V15 or two V50 battery packs that both have the Always On mode that is required for long term deployment using our controller boards.
Why is "Always On" mode for batteries important?
Since our controllers turn the camera off between triggers to conserve power, Always On mode is important to prevent the battery from automatically turning off. Most of the USB battery packs on the market have an automatic power saving feature which turns off the battery if the battery is not constantly supplying power to a device. If the GoPro is powered off for more than a few minutes between triggers, the external battery might automatically shutdown due to inactivity. However, our V15 and V50 batteries have two modes of operation, the standard Auto Off mode and an Always On mode. The Always On mode prevents the battery from automatically turning off when insufficient current is being drawn due to the camera being powered off between triggers.
How long will the battery last before it is discharged?
It depends on many factors including the outside temperature, the age of your battery, controller you are using, the camera you are using and the shooting schedule you have programmed. There are too many variables to give a perfect answer, but if you are taking time lapse images, we have created a Time Lapse Calculator that can be used to help determine how long your battery should theoretically last using our controller boards. The calculator can also be used to determine your ideal shooting interval based on the length of the project and final video clip length you are trying to achieve.
This uses our analysis of the power consumption of the various GoPro cameras and provides an explanation of how to calculate the theoretical battery life.
How can I avoid condensation on the lens?
Our enclosures have an integrated auto-pressure valve that equalizes the atmospheric pressure difference to reduce condensation. The IP67 micro vent allows air to pass through while preventing water from entering. If you need additional protection against condensation, the extra space in the solar enclosure allows for one or more sacks of desiccant to be inserted in the box. For even more protection, there are some products available to coat the lens, such as those used on ski-goggles. The standard 67mm threaded lens filter can also be replaced with another 67mm threaded lens that already has anti-fog characteristics or coating.
TIP: Condensation is a result of humid air being sealed in the box when you close it and condensing when there is a temperature change. Try to close the box in as dry an environment as possible. If you need additional protection against condensation, the extra space in the solar enclosure allows for one or more sacks of desiccant to be inserted in the box. Can I lock the case?
Yes. There are two ¼” locking holes, one on each side of the case, through which padlocks, bolts, or threaded rods can be used to secure the contents of the box.
What is the original dust and water ingress rating of your enclosures? Can I submerge your SolarX or DryX enclosures?
The enclosures have an IP67 rating prior to installation of CamDo accessories. Our SolarX and DryX enclosures are not designed to be immersed in water.
Does the enclosure O-Ring seal require special care?
The case is equipped with a hollow core EPDM gasket that has been designed to give superior performance and resist compressive deformation over time. To ensure a watertight seal, the gasket must be free of cuts, abrasions or tears. Debris or foreign material caught between the sealing rib on the bottom of the case and the gasket on the top of the case will prevent the case from sealing properly. A coat of an automotive type surface protector is recommended to help prevent dirt and debris from sticking to the seal. If the seal becomes damaged a replacement seal can be ordered from Cam-Do.com.
Special care should be taken to ensure that wires or cables do not get trapped in the door when it is closed. The power-claw latches can exert extreme force, resulting in damage to the cable and the O-ring seal.

The marine grade aluminum swivel mount kit consists of a 6" long straight swing arm on a vertical mounting base for attachment to a flat or rounded surface such as a wall or post. The opposing end is a ball socket used with the 1.5" ball mount plate that can be attached to our SolarX or DryX outdoor enclosure for ultimate aiming flexibility.
The swing arm pivot allows for full 360-degree rotation and the ball and socket system allows a 360-degree rotation with a 180-degree pivot.

The Solar Kit adds an extra 9W solar panel to give you a total of 18W of power (2 x 9W panels) when using SolarX. It comes with all necessary attachments (ball arm, socket) and wiring to get up and running in no time with your existing SolarX.
The SolarX outdoor enclosure is fitted with a sturdy aluminum mounting bracket that contains multiple ¼"-20 threaded holes on the top, back, and bottom for use with standard tripod screws. Each solar panel is simply attached to this bracket using the included ¼"-20 ball mount and associated socket arm so the panel can be positioned for optimum sun exposure.
The 9W Solar Panel Kit includes a "(2Fx1M) Y-cable" that can be used to connect two solar panels to simultaneously charge a single V44 battery (included with SolarX). Alternatively, our outdoor housings can fit two V44 battery packs that can each be charged from a separate solar panel. So if one panel gets dirty or covered by shadow, the second panel will continue to work hard for your project.

Will the solar panel be able to keep my time lapse running indefinitely?
This would depend on the shooting cycle used and the sun exposure available in your location. We advise all customers to calculate their battery needs due to the many variables. We have a Time Lapse Calculator that can be used to help determine your ideal shooting interval and how long your battery should theoretically last using our controller boards and batteries. The Calculator also gives the rate at which the solar panel should be able to recharge your battery at your given location and with the panel angle that is used. Keep in mind that temperature, battery fatigue, and other electrical inefficiencies will prevent the camera from using the full battery capacity.

Use Blink to achieve long term time lapse or motion detection for your next project. Just plug it into your GoPro and use the Blink app to connect and configure up to 10 separate time lapse schedules using a smartphone, tablet, computer, or any WiFi enabled device which has a web browser (no cell service or internet connection required). A WiFi network with internet access is only required if you would like to use our optional Blink Email status feature to provide daily status updates.

Can I have a time lapse and motion detection simultaneously?
Yes, Blink allows for multiple schedules to be active at a time.
What happens if there is a conflict between schedules?
If multiple schedules have been set and there is a conflict between them, priority is given to the lower numbered schedule. For example, schedule 1 has priority over schedule 2.
Does Blink fit inside the standard GoPro housings?
Yes, if housing external batteries is not an issue, Blink can be used with the GoPro Frame Mount or the extended backdoors included in the GoPro Back Door Kit that are designed to clip into the standard housing to provide space to fit GoPro BacPac accessories.
What housings does CamDo offer that have space for Blink and external battery packs?
Blink is typically used with our Outdoor Enclosures to also house extra batteries and come with two power options, a 9Watt solar panel, or without a solar panel that is normally used for shorter deployments, when you can return regularly to recharge the batteries. The Outdoor Enclosures have space to fit up to two of our V44 (44watt-hour) battery packs.
If you require a waterproof solution, our aluminum Deep underwater housing allows for use of Blink and the GoPro to a depth of 2000ft, while the DeepEXT housing extension can fit up to three V15 (15watt-hour) battery packs.
How long will the battery last if I shoot some number of photos per hour?
Calculating battery life is non-trivial. It depends on the camera model, firmware version, SD card speed, lighting conditions, battery size, age of the battery, ambient temperature, and more. To help you understand the issues and to calculate estimated battery life, consult the Camera Power Consumption Study and our Time Lapse Calculator.
If I know approximately how long my project is, how do I determine the ideal interval between triggers?
The ideal shooting interval is normally determined by the length of the final time lapse video clip, capacity of the SD card or battery capacity available. Our Time Lapse Calculator can be used to help determine the ideal interval between photos as determined by these variables.
Why is "Always On" mode for batteries important?
Since Blink turns the camera off between triggers to conserve power, Always On mode is important to prevent the battery from automatically turning off due to periods of inactivity. Most of the USB battery packs on the market have an automatic power saving feature which turns off the battery if the battery is not constantly supplying power to a device. If the GoPro is turned off for more than a few minutes between triggers, the external battery might automatically shutdown due to inactivity. However, our V15 and V44 have two modes of operation, the standard Auto Off mode and an Always On mode. The Always On mode prevents the battery from automatically turning off when insufficient current is being drawn due to the camera being turned off by Blink to conserve power.
Does Blink retain the shooting schedule when power is removed or lost?
When all power is removed, Blink will retain the programmed shooting schedule. However, Blink does not have an internal battery to retain the time and date settings. When power is restored to Blink, it will determine the clock time and date information from the GoPro camera.
Can I switch the SD card in the middle of a time lapse schedule?
Yes, the SD card is "hot swappable". If an interval occurs when the SD card is out of the GoPro, Blink will continue the shooting schedule by triggering the camera to turn on and off, however, no image will be taken since there is no SD card to save the image to.
How do I change Blink's shooting schedule in the middle of a project?
Blink's WiFi can be turned on or off by using the supplied push button remote plugged into the board's 2.5mm input. Blink's WiFi only remains active for 15 minutes to program the new settings before the WiFi is automatically turned off to conserve power. If the camera is not easily accessable, we offer 2.5mm Extension cables that can be left attached to Blink's 2.5mm port for re-triggering the WiFi signal.
Can I schedule a time lapse with an interval less than 60seconds between images?
Yes, shorter intervals can be achieved on the HERO4 camera by using the GoPro's native "time lapse video" setting to allow the capture of 0.5 , 1, 2, 5, 10, 30, and 60 seconds between images as explained here: https://cam-do.com/pages/blink-troubleshooting-guide#short-interval
What can I connect to the circular jacks on my Blink?
Blink's Port1 is used to activate the Blink's WiFi signal and is typically used with the included wired remote.
Blink's Port2 is used for Motion Detection operation and information about this port is located in our Blink User Manual.
Please connect only CamDo-approved accessories to these jacks unless you are experienced. Do not connect other equipment, especially voltage sources such as your solar panel or battery, to these jacks. Doing so could damage your BlinkX or camera.

Motion detection can be used for security camera applications, wildlife photography, and for recording events where a person or other object, such as a car or truck, moves past the camera from time to time.
The X-Band Motion Sensor does not work underwater.
Our X-Band Motion Sensor is an active device powered by BlinkX/Blink’s 3.5mm Port2 connection, which bounces 10.5Ghz microwave signals to determine if motion has occurred. Microwaves do not rely on heat so the moving object does not need to be warm to trigger the sensor. Microwaves will also pass through glass and plastic, so the X-Band sensor can be mounted behind a window or inside an opaque waterproof box for use outdoors. The range of the X-Band sensor is adjustable from 8 to 30 feet (2-10m). Actual distances will depend on the environment and mounting configurations.
The X-Band Sensor is typically used with our durable weatherproof SolarX or DryX enclosures that have enough space to house the GoPro, BlinkX/Blink, Motion Sensor, and Battery Packs.
Blink and BlinkX are designed to extend the GoPro camera's battery life by turning the camera off between triggers and allows for motion detection triggering to be set on a scheduled active time to ensure footage is only captured when needed. In power saving mode, since the camera needs to power on before starting the recording, there is approximately a 5 second delay between when the Motion Sensor is triggered and when the recording starts or the picture is taken. Where power is less of a concern Blink has a "fast capture" mode (currently in Beta for firmware v2.00) where the camera will continue to stay on during the active motion detection schedule to reduce the activation time to less than 1 second. The camera will remain off when no motion detection schedule is active.
The X-Band Microwave Motion Sensor is an accessory that can be combined with Blink or BlinkX to trigger the GoPro camera when motion has occurred.

Do I require Blink or BlinkX to use the X-Band Motion Sensor?
Blink or BlinkX is required to use the X-Band Microwave Motion Sensor accessory to trigger the GoPro camera when motion is detected.
How does the Motion Detection video recording time work if motion is detected more than once in the interval?
If the video mode is selected in the Motion Detector interface of Blink/BlinkX, the camera will continue to record for the amount of time set in the Video recording menu once motion is no longer detected. If movement is detected before the recording time elapses, the recording interval will be reset to ensure you capture the entire motion event.
How does the X-Band detect motion?
The X-Band sensor uses doppler detection of microwaves bounced off the object and is triggered by motion towards or away from the sensor. Microwaves pass through opaque plastics and glass, but not metal. The moving object does not need to be warm to trigger the sensor.
Will the X-Band Sensor work underwater if contained in a waterproof housing?
No. The X-Band Sensor only works in air and will not work underwater.
Can I use more than one sensor with Blink or BlinkX simultaneously?
No. Blink and BlinkX detect pulse frequency from the X-Band Sensor, so only one sensor can be used at a time.
Does the controller board fit inside the standard waterproof case?
BlinkX does not fit into any of the standard GoPro housings. Blink fits in the extended BacPac backdoor attachments included in the GoPro Backdoor Kit and provided with the GoPro accessories such as the GoPro Dive Housing, GoPro LCD BacPac or the GoPro Battery BacPac. However, since the Motion Sensor plugs into the 3.5mm port on the bottom of Blink, a small hole needs to be drilled into the housing to allow the sensor’s wires to pass through the housing. X-Band detectors are normally used with our outdoor SolarX and DryX enclosures.
CamDo offers a series of Outdoor Weather Resistant Enclosures designed to house the GoPro camera, Blink, and Motion Sensor along with space for a high capacity battery and optional solar panel for longer term deployment. Can a Blink or BlinkX motion detection schedule and time lapse schedules overlap?
Yes, the motion detection can be set on a schedule that overlaps with a time lapse schedule. If the camera enters a time lapse interval while camera is currently recording in motion detection mode, the time lapse image will be skipped. If the camera is currently taking a time lapse image when motion is detected, Blink will re-trigger the camera on the motion detection schedule after the camera has taken the time lapse photo and turned off.
I am a hacker. Can I use the ports on the Blink or BlinkX board to trigger the camera using other devices?
The motion detection Port2 of Blink and BlinkX can be programmed to accept an external input to trigger an action. Unlike the X-Band operation which requires a set amount of pulses within a certain timeframe, PIR/External mode only requires a pulse for more than 250ms to trigger the camera. Under normal circumstances, the standard GoPro battery will last for one to two hours of shooting. Our UpBlink, BlinkX and Blink controllers can be programmed to turn the camera off between shots to only have the camera powered on when the footage is needed. However, while Blink can extend the length of time the GoPro cameras can be deployed on the internal GoPro battery, the total amount of time the camera can remain powered on is still the same. Our 47Wh battery increases the GoPro battery life by approximately 12x and has the Always On operating mode required for use with our UpBlink, BlinkX and Blink controllers.
Note: UpBlink and BlinkX requires an external power source and cannot be powered directly from the GoPro battery.

How long will the battery last before it is discharged?
It depends on many factors: the controller you are using, the camera you are using and the shooting schedule you have programmed. There are just too many variables to give an accurate answer.
In theory, the 4,000 mAH V15 battery combined with the standard GoPro 1,050 mAH battery will give you about 5 times the shooting time.
The 12,800 mAH V50 battery combined with the standard GoPro 1,050 mAH battery should give you more than 12 times the shooting time.

It is easiest to determine the operating mode when the battery is disconnected and neither charging or supplying power to a device. When in Always On mode, if you double tap the power button a few times, the LED should continue to stay lit. If the LED goes dark between every other double press, you are not in Always On mode.
How can I change the operating mode?
To switch modes, hold down the power button for at least six seconds.
If you are not in the desired mode. Press the button again for at least 6 seconds to change modes.

The Underwater WiFi Extension Cable for Action Cameras extends the use of WiFi and Bluetooth control of WiFi enabled Action Cameras, such as Yi and GoPro cameras, that are underwater.

The wet end of the link has a custom pivot mount that attaches to many standard action waterproof action camera housings (the housing is not included). The clip connects to the standard 2pin pivot mount for action camera housings. Just turn on the camera WiFi, close the waterproof camera mount, adjust the wet end clip to be pressed against the back of the camera, and drop the camera into the water. No connection to the camera is necessary. The interface to the camera is wireless.
At the dry end, the WiFi Extension Cable interfaces wirelessly with any wireless device such as an Android phone or tablet or iPhone or iPad or the GoPro WiFi Remote. The GoPro App or similar software provides real time video monitoring and complete control over the camera settings.

How do I adjust the wet-end antenna to fit my camera's housing model?
The wet-end is connects to the standard 2pin action camera pivot mounting system. The attachment of the mounting knuckle to the wet-end antenna is slotted with two screws that allows the wet-end antenna to be adjusted to fit tightly against the back of the camera housing for optimal signal transmission.
To adjust the position, loosen the two screws at the base of the wet-end antenna as well as the thumbscrew. Pivot the antenna to the back of the camera and slide the antenna so that it is flat with the back of the camera housing before tightening the two knuckle screws.
What is the maximum cable length possible?
We have tested cables to 100 meters (328 feet) with excellent results using a Nexus 5 as the controller. As the cable gets longer, the signal will be weaker and results will depend on the presence of interfering signals and the quality of the antenna in the controlling device.
What is the maximum depth?
The maximum depth will depend on the waterproof rating of the camera or housing. For example, the GoPro Dive Housing is rated to a depth of 60 meters, while the GoPro HERO5 through HERO7 cameras are waterproof upto 10meters without an added waterproof housing. When using a waterproof housing, we strongly recommend you test the housing with no camera every time before inserting the camera. A small scratch, dirt, grease or hair can be enough to allow water in.
How far can the tablet or phone be from the dry-end antenna?
It depends on the cable length, orientation of the dry-end antenna, the type of the antenna in the controlling device, and the interference from other signals. It will work for a few feet in most cases, but the closer the better.
What WiFi frequency does the cable work with?
2.4 GHz. The cable is not compatible with 5 GHz. On HERO 7 / HERO 6 / Fusion cameras, make sure to select 2.4 GHz in the wifi settings menu (earlier model cameras auto switch). Refer to this GoPro support article for more information.
How do I determine the best orientation for the adapter relative to my phone/tablet?
There are many apps available that show the changes in WiFi signal strength as the dry-end antenna moved. We use WiFi Analyzer.
How do I attach the dry end to the monitoring device?
The dry end interface can be attached to the back of the phone or tablet using the included velcro tape or 3M double sided removable mounting squares.
What have people used your WiFi Extender for?

How do I replace the standard backdoor with the wet end of the Underwater WiFi Extension Cable (older version of wifi cable - not required for new version shipped after Dec 2018)?
The standard backdoor of the GoPro Housing can be removed and replaced with the wet end of the Underwater WiFi Extension Cable. If you look at the bottom of the hinge holding the backdoor to the front of the housing, you should notice that it is slotted. The backdoor of the GoPro housing snaps off of the camera housing if you open the backdoor all the way and rotate or pull the backdoor downward. No tools are required. There are a lot of battery packs available, however, don't be fooled by cheaper alternatives. Most of the USB battery packs on the market have an automatic power saving feature which turns off the battery if it is not continuously supplying power. Often, this feature is not even mentioned in the battery description, and only discovered when you find the camera's internal battery is dead, even though the high powered battery pack is still fully charged.
Calculating battery life is non-trivial. It depends on the camera model, firmware version, SD card speed, lighting conditions, battery size, age of the battery, ambient temperature, and more. How long will the battery last before it is discharged?
It depends on many factors: the controller you are using, the camera you are using and the shooting schedule you have programmed. There are just too many variables to give an accurate answer.
In theory, the 4,000 mAh V15 battery combined with the standard GoPro 1,050 mAh battery will give you about 5 times the shooting time.
Combine multiple V15 batteries together in parallel (you can fit 4 x V15's in our solar enclosure to provide 16,000 mAh (60 Wh)) to give you that extra shooting time.

How do I connect multiple V15 batteries together?
Additional V15 batteries can be ordered for use with our Solar and weatherproof enclosures (4 x V15's can fit in our enclosure) for extra shooting time. All of the wiring to connect them together comes with the batteries. It just a simple matter of plugging them together as per our guide here.

How can I tell when the battery is in Always On mode?
It is easiest to determine the operating mode when the battery is disconnected and neither charging or supplying power to a device. When in Always On mode, if you double tap the power button a few times, the LED should continue to stay lit. If the LED goes dark between every other double press, you are not in Always On mode.
How can I change the operating mode?
To switch modes, hold down the power button for six seconds.
If you are not in the desired mode. Press the button again for 6 seconds to change modes.

The miniUSB trigger input on Dash will work on any 5V power source so it can run using your vehicle's USB accessory jack, or an alternate custom trigger system of your own design. Dash uses a power regulator so the same 5V trigger signal can be used to provide power to the GoPro camera. Note: Dash is only designed for a 5V power input. Attempting to connect to a voltage greater than 5V may result in damage to Dash and/or the GoPro camera.
Dash can use any of the GoPro camera's video modes and can be configured to 8 different operating modes for flexibility. When power is applied to the trigger input, Dash can either start recording immediately, or just turn the camera on which can be useful if only using the GoPro's miniHDMI output or running scripts saved to the SD card. When power is removed, Dash can either end the recording immediately and turn off the camera, continue recording for 1 or 10 minutes before ending the recording and turning off the camera, or ignore the removal of the trigger signal and continue to stay powered on.
Dash will fit inside the extended backdoors included in the GoPro Backdoor Kit that are designed to fit GoPro BacPac accessories. We recommend using the frame mount inside a vehicle.

Which GoPro cameras is Dash compatible with?

My race car vibrates a lot. How do I keep secure the USB cable in Dash or the camera?
We recommend placing a loop in the USB cable and a cable tie to provide a level of security and to reduce the vibration. We also recommend mounting to the windshield where practicable which has less vibration than the dashboard.
How do I know what mode I am in?
When you plug Dash in, the LED on the back will flash the same number of times as the set mode. Eg if you are in mode 3, the LED will flash 3 times. If you are in mode 1, the LED will flash once.
Does powering Dash charge the GoPro battery?
No. While the GoPro camera can be powered through Dash, Dash does not charge the GoPro battery which makes the camera more reliable when recording for long periods by removing the heat generated by the GoPro battery charging circuit.
Do I need the internal camera battery?
Yes, the internal battery must be present to allow time for the GoPro to save the file and ensure your file is not corrupted due to the sudden loss of power. To keep your GoPro charged, we recommend also plugging power into the side of the camera via the mini USB port. The USB charger CamDo offers has 2 x USB output ports so that you can charge the camera at the same time.
Does Dash support scripting?
Yes! Using modes 5, 6, 7, or 8, the camera will only turn on, it will not automatically start recording. You are then in complete control using scripts. CamDo offers custom firmware to enable scripting on the HERO4 camera - check it out here.
How does Looping Video work with the GoPro camera?
The video looping feature of the GoPro cameras allows you to shoot 5 minutes to 2 hours of video in a continuous loop. When the programmed time is up, the camera will erase the first segment of the video and begin recording a new segment. We recommend using the 2hr setting as GoPro chaptering on the MAX setting is not ideal (see below). The video is saved in segments which can be combined using GoPro’s Cineform Studio. Segment length depends on the total time selected.

To enter programming mode, insert the wired remote into the “Config/Highlight” port and hold the button down while plugging Dash into the camera. The LED will periodically flash to indicate what mode it is currently set to. Each button press on the wired remote will to cycle to the next operating mode. Using Bullet is very simple. Just plug it into the camera and press the button on the Wired Remote. If the camera is off, it will turn on. If the camera is on and in photo mode, it will act as if you have hit the camera shutter button and take a photo. If in video mode it will start or stop video. Holding the button for more than 3 seconds will turn the camera off.
The CamDo Bullet is a low power GoPro accessory for the HERO3+ Black, HERO4 Silver, and HERO4 Black cameras that allows you to control the GoPro camera's power and shutter functions through the use of a wired push button remote. Bullet can be used to control a single camera or multiple cameras using a single remote. Each Bullet is purchased separately and has an input and output port, allowing the boards to be daisy-chained so that any number of cameras can be triggered simultaneously.
Each Bullet comes with a 1 foot patch cable for daisy-chaining between Bullet boards. If the cameras need to be placed further apart or you need a longer cable between the first bullet and the push button remote, we are offering extension cables at 3ft, 10ft, and 25ft lengths.

Can I power the GoPro camera from Bullet?
Yes, but the GoPro battery is still required for reliable operation. Bullet has a mini-USB input that allows you to power the GoPro through the HERO Port. However powering the GoPro from the HERO Port does not charge the battery so the GoPro battery will need to be recharged separately.
Can I make a custom trigger for the Bullet?
Some users may want to trigger the Bullet with something other than a shutter button. This is possible, however caution must be taken to ensure the Bullet or camera does not become damaged. See the user manual under the section “Building a Custom Trigger” for more info
I need to take photos at exactly the same time. How accurately synchronized are the cameras when I use your cables?
The Bullet does not synchronize the shutter. When the button is pressed, a command is sent to each camera at the same time, however we cannot guarantee that all of the cameras will respond at exactly the same time.
If the shutters are not synchronized, how can I make a bullet time-slice video?
Typically, our customers shoot video when the cameras are turned on. For 120fps video, the HERO4 can achieve 1080p quality and is a set up that many of our clients use to achieve tight synchronization in post production to achieve such effects as bullet time slice (made famous by the matrix movies). The sound track can be used to provide a synchronizing signal, as simple as a clapper board, or sometimes music. The frames are then grabbed from the video tracks in post production using software such as PluralEyes, AutoPano, PTGui Pro, Adobe Premiere or other products./p>
Does the controller board fit inside the standard waterproof case?
Bullet does not fit in the GoPro Housing with the standard backdoor. Bullet fits in the extended backdoor attachments included in the GoPro Backdoor Kit and provided with the GoPro accessories such as the GoPro LCD BacPac or the GoPro Battery BacPac.
How much does each Bullet weigh?
Bullet weighs 14.5g. The Bullet's PCB without the housing weighs 6.8g. Bullet's PCB can be removed from the housing using a set of Torx screwdrivers size T3 and T5.

CSI FIRMWARE - FOR GOPRO HERO4 BLACK AND SILVER CAMERAS
The CSI firmware update is a HERO4 firmware patch that restores the script functionality that was available on the previous HERO3 line of cameras. This allows the HERO4 cameras to run script commands saved to the SD card that will run each time the camera is powered on. We have three versions of the CSI script controller (csiController).
The HERO4 Lite-csiController (click here for more info and to access) only allows for a few simple commands and a maximum of 6 command lines. The Lite scripts cannot be executed when the GoPro's WiFi is active. The Lite version is designed for use with our TL and PS controller boards that are only able to trigger the camera to turn on but not turn the camera off or control the GoPro’s shutter function.
The HERO4 Pro-csiController allows scripts to run when the GoPro’s WiFi is active and the use of an unlimited number of command lines. Pro-csiController scripts can be used to adjust all the setting available in the GoPro menu. The Pro-csiController also includes additional script commands that are not available on the HERO3 cameras such as changing the IP address of the camera and our WiFi monitor function.
When using WiFi scripts with Blink for time lapse images, Blink can be programmed to activate the GoPro's WiFi for a set amount of time each day or week for downloading and clearing the SD card using the GoPro App before the camera and WiFi are turned off to conserve battery. Since Blink's time lapse photo setting has a camera on time of a few seconds, Blink will turn the camera off before WiFi is triggered under regular photo operation. Blink’s Manual controls or video mode can be used to extend the camera on-time to allow the script to activate WiFi for a set length of time.
The HERO4 Cloud-csiController (email for details) allows the HERO4 camera to connect to an 802.11n WiFi network as a client rather than only being able to act as the WiFi host that can be connected to using GoPro App. When connected to a WiFi network as a client, it allows the camera to automatically upload images via FTP or WebDAV to a web server or to be controlled using REST GET commands from your web browser.
Using the automatic upload script, the full sized images are saved to the SD card and the Cloud firmware can automatically upload the full sized image or a smaller thumbnail image (approximately 1000 pixels wide) so you can remotely view and download the images. The GoPro's WiFi is activated for only the duration of the file transfer before WiFi is turned off with the camera to conserve the battery.
The GoPro can only connect to an open network (no password) but the network can have a hidden SSID, MAC address filtering, and firewall settings if extra security is needed. This is advanced functionality and requires a level of familiarity with router settings. Your WiFi network hotspot or access point must be within 20 feet of the camera for reliable operation.

When using scripts make sure your SD card has a minimum read and write speeds of 30MB/s (U3 rated) You are strongly advised to use an SD card from the recommended list on GoPro's website. Use of cards not on the list, will greatly increase your chance of trouble with your setup. Note that some SD cards have the same product name as the cards on the list but are an older version that only have a U1 rating. Make sure your SD card has a U3 rating. Please use our SD card speed tester (http://cam-do.com/pages/sd-card-speed-tester) to check your SD card has a minimum write and read speed of 30 MB/s.
Scripts can be used with our HERO4 compatible controller boards to carry out complex functions. The csi scripts are executed each time the camera is triggered to turn on by either the CamDo controller board or the Power/Mode button.

Can I use the firmware on multiple cameras?
No, you will need to purchase a separate version for each camera as it is locked to your camera serial number. If your camera breaks or is replaced (and therefore has a different serial number), please email support@cam-do.com and we will help you out.

Can the custom CSI update be removed?
Yes, the CSI firmware update is not permanent and can be overwritten with an official GoPro update file. Official GoPro HERO4 camera updates can be found here.
When the Pro-Firmware is used with Blink, how can the WiFi on time be controlled if the script runs each time the camera is powered on?
Our HERO4 Pro Firmware can be used with Blink to schedule a set time each day or week for the GoPro's WiFi to turn on for downloading and clearing the SD card using the GoPro App before the camera and WiFi are turned off to conserve battery. This is achieved by using a script to activate the WiFi for a set amount of time. Although the script will run each time the camera is turned on, an initial wait period of 1 minute is set at the start of the script to ensure that WiFi is not triggered when Blink is only programmed for time lapse images. Blink's time lapse photo setting has a camera on time of a few seconds so Blink will turn the camera off before WiFi is triggered under regular operation.
When used with Blink, can the WiFi on time be controlled if also recording video?
No, this configuration will currently only work with time lapse images and will not work if you are also filming video at a certain time of day. This is because the WiFi script saved to the SD card will run each time the camera is triggered to turn on. The first command line of the script is a wait period to ensure that when using standard photo time lapse operation, the camera is turned off by Blink before the WiFi commands of the script are executed.
Can you lock the exposure time using a script?
The shutter exposure settings can only be adjusted to the setting available in the GoPro setup menu.
How does the IP changer work?
The IP address of the camera can be chosen by a new “ip.csi” file that needs to be saved in the SD card's root folder. The "ip.csi" file can be used on the SD card along with an "autoexec.csi" command script. The camera remains as the wifi host.
What type of router is required for using the Cloud Firmware?
To use the Cloud firmware, you need to have an open WiFi network (no password protection) that broadcasts an 802.11n signal within range of the GoPro camera. The router needs to maintain a stable connection to the internet. Note that some routers, typically 3G & 4G routers, have a power/data saving mode that needs to be disabled. You will need to manually input the SSID and MAC address of the router into a script that is saved to the camera's SD card.
Since the WiFi network cannot be password protected, is there another way to secure the network?
For security, some routers allow the use of MAC address filtering so that only authorized devices (the GoPro camera) can connect and if you use a personal hotspot style device, you can also configure the firewall to only have access to the upload server's website (eg. box.com).
What happens to the images if my router’s WiFi signal is briefly lost?
The full sized images are always saved to the SD card so they will not be lost forever. If the GoPro fails to locate the WiFi network programmed in the script due to the network being down, the filename of each failed image upload will be saved to a backlog. The camera will continue to look for the network each time it is triggered. Once the WiFi signal is restored, the camera will resume uploading images. The script will always attempt to upload the most recent photo first. After a successful upload, the camera will start to upload any failed images from the backlog. The maximum amount of time spent searching for the WiFi network before abandoning the upload and maximum time spent uploading images can be set in the script. These are the RouterConnectTimeout & OverallTimeout sections of the script.

In order to use this feature, UpBlink must be near a 802.11n WiFi access point with an internet connection(either an open WiFi network or WPA secure network). WEP secure networks are older technology and not supported. Alternatively a 3G/4G hotspot can be plugged into UpBlink.
FTP functionality for UpBlink is a one-off purchase for lifetime access including lifetime firmware updates.

What is an FTP server?
If you are not familiar with FTP, you will want to check out CloudX, CamDo's managed time lapse platform.
I just received UpBlink - how do I activate FTP functionality?
Once you have received your UpBlink controller, email support@cam-do.com with your UpBlink SSID details and we will send you a firmware update keyed specifically to your device. See the next FAQ to check your activation.
I just activated FTP - how do I know it worked and where do I put in my server settings?
Once activated, the following dropdown box will appear under "Upload Schedule" --> "Upload Type" (see screenshot below). Select FTP or SFTP and fill in the server details.
Can I use the FTP firmware on more than one UpBlink?
No. each firmware is keyed to your particular UpBlink controller. If you have multiple controllers, you will need to purchase 1 x FTP license per UpBlink controller.
Can I use FTP to upload to Google Drive or DropBox?
No. You will need to deploy your own FTP server or purchase a subscription from a web based service. Last time we checked, Box.com offered an FTP service for Enterprise and Business accounts.
How do I setup an FTP server?
If you don't know how to setup an FTP server or need email notifications and automatic time lapse generation, check out CloudX, CamDo's managed time lapse platform.
Do you support FTP and SFTP?
Yes, both protocols are supported. We do not support FTPS.
Help, my FTP connection is not working.
We cannot support the setup of your FTP server, however we suggest the following as a starting point:
Can I get status updates?
Yes, a status.json text file containing status information is uploaded to the FTP server so you can check status remotely.
Can I update firmware remotely using FTP?
Yes, simply place the UpBlink firmware update file into the status folder. On the next upload event, UpBlink will download the firmware and update.
Can I change the settings of the camera remotely?
Not yet. This is likely to be a future feature.

The Remote Shutter Button is used with the CamDo Bullet to allow you to control the GoPro camera's power and shutter functions with the push of a button. The Remote Shutter Button can be used to control a single camera through the Bullet's input port. The output port from the Bullet can be daisy-chained to another Bullet’s input to simultaneously control multiple cameras with a button press from a single Remote Shutter Button.

The Underwater WiFi Extension Cable extends the use of WiFi and Bluetooth control of GoPro HERO3, HERO3+ and HERO4 cameras that are underwater.

The wet end of the link is a custom backdoor which clips to the GoPro Housings (the housing is not included). Our 20ft to 125ft lengths are molded into a GoPro Standard Housing backdoor that is rated to a depth of 40m (131ft). For use at greater depths, our longer lengths are molded into a backdoor that fits the GoPro Dive Housing rated to a depth of 60m (196ft). Just turn on the camera WiFi, close the back of the housing, and drop the camera into the water. No connection to the camera is necessary. The interface to the camera is wireless.
At the dry end, the WiFi Extension Cable interfaces wirelessly with any wireless device such as an Android phone or tablet or iPhone or iPad or the GoPro WiFi Remote. The GoPro App or similar software to provide real time video monitoring and complete control over the camera settings.
Disclaimer: As with regular GoPro waterproof housings, it is prudent to test the housing underwater before putting your camera in every time you use it. Our warranty does not cover incidental damage. Always keep the O-ring and edges of the case clean. Always inspect them before every use. Do not use silicone or other grease on the O-ring.

How do I replace the standard backdoor with the wet end of the Underwater WiFi Extension Cable?
The standard backdoor of the GoPro Housing can be removed and replaced with the wet end of the Underwater WiFi Extension Cable. If you look at the bottom of the hinge holding the backdoor to the front of the housing, you should notice that it is slotted. The backdoor of the GoPro housing snaps off of the camera housing if you open the backdoor all the way and rotate or pull the backdoor downward. No tools are required. How do I tell if I have a GoPro Dive Housing or Standard GoPro Housing?
All GoPro HERO3 and HERO4 cameras currently ship with the Standard Housing, which is slightly smaller than the Dive Housing and fits of 12ft to 125ft lengths of Underwater WiFi Extension Cable. Our cable lengths of 150ft and above do not fit the Standard Housing and require a Dive Housing.
Please compare your camera housing to these pictures to ensure you have what you need for your project. 
What is the maximum cable length possible?
We have tested cables to 100 meters (328 feet) with excellent results using a Nexus 5 as the controller. As the cable gets longer, the signal will be weaker and results will depend on the presence of interfering signals and the quality of the antenna in the controlling device.
What is the maximum depth?
Our longer lengths of Underwater WiFi Extension Cable fit the GoPro Dive Housing which GoPro rates to a depth of 60 meters. We strongly recommend you test the housing and backpack with no camera every time you use it. A small scratch, dirt, grease or hair can be enough to allow water in. Stress may have affected the cable or the exit point. We do not test each backpack before shipping and do not know the maximum depth before failure for your unit.
How far can the tablet or phone be from the dry-end antenna?
It depends on the cable length, orientation of the dry-end antenna, the type of the antenna in the controlling device, and the interference from other signals. It will work for a few feet in most cases, but the closer the better.
How do I determine the best orientation for the adapter relative to my phone?
There are many apps available that show the WiFi signal strength. We use WiFi Analyzer.
How do I attach the dry end to the monitoring device?
The dry end interface can be attached to the back of the phone or tablet using velcro or 3M double sided removable mounting squares.
What have people used your WiFi Extender for?
An example of the Underwater WiFi Extender in action:
A HERO3 camera attached to a 15 foot fiberglass Bream pole using a handlebar mount is being used to do a hull inspection of this sailboat. A golf ball retriever also makes a good extendable pole for mounting the camera. The video preview allows the user to select snapshots and take short close up videos of delamination, osmosis damage, algae growth or barnacles.

Will the Battery Eliminator work with other CamDo accessories?
The Battery Eliminator plugs into the camera’s HERO Port, so it cannot be used simultaneously with our other GoPro HERO Port accessories such as our Blink, Bullet, or Dash.
Can I attach the Battery Eliminator wires directly to a car/marine battery?
The Battery Eliminator can be powered from a DC input between 5V to 24V. The USB connector can be cut and the wires directly attached to the power source. However, make sure not to reverse the polarity of the wires. Attaching the wires backward can damage the Battery Eliminator and/or the GoPro camera. Removing the USB connector will void any warranty.

It looks just like my iPhone charger cable. Can I just use the one I have?
No! The iPhone/iPod cable has a very similar connector to the GoPro Port connector, but the connections are different. You will almost certainly damage the camera if you try to charge the camera with an iPhone cable.
iPhone connectors are actually a slightly different size from the GoPro connectors. Some knockoff connectors will fit the camera, but they may distort the GoPro’s HERO Port if forced.
Will the connectors fit inside the GoPro waterproof back doors?
Low profile design fits easily in any of the extended skeleton backdoors provided with the GoPro LCD Bacpac or the GoPro Battery Bacpac. accessories. The connector is narrow enough to fit inside the back door and the cable fits easily through the slot at the bottom. Alternatively, a hole can be cut in the back of the standard skeleton backdoor.
Where can I find documentation on the GoPro HERO Port interface?
The GoPro User Forum is the best place to find unofficial documentation discovered by users who were not afraid to take their cameras apart and poke around.

How long in the telescopic pole?
The pole has two telescopic sections connected by an articulating hinge. Fully folded/collapsed, the pole measures 79" long. The longer handle section extends to 262", while the shorter camera side section extends from 41" to 70".

What is the difference between 28/24AWG and regular 28AWG USB cables?
The 28 AWG data conductors are standard for download data at USB 2.0 speeds. The power conducting wires are built to a thicker 24 AWG. The increase in thickness of the power wiring allows the cable to carry more power and charge devices at a faster rate.

WiGo is a Windows application designed to communicate with GoPro WiFi enabled cameras that can be used to change the camera settings, preview the image, and download photos and videos directly to your PC from the SD card.
Shortly after the iPhone application was released by GoPro, a number of enterprising individuals began to catalog the WiFi commands sent from that app to the GoPro Wifi BacPac. They were generous enough to share their observations on the GoPro User Forum. In particular, dough29 contributed enormously to the task of documenting the List of GoPro Wifi BacPac Commands and has built RemoteGo, an Android app to control the camera. This software builds on their work. Thank you.
WiGo does not require any installation. Download the WiGo.exe file (which will be delivered to you via email) to the folder you wish to use and run it. Your browser and Windows will warn you that this is unsafe. They are right. It is always risky to download an executable file from an unknown source. Never install WiGo or any other program if you are unsure of the source. If you download from cam-do.com, WiGo.exe is coming directly from the author. It does not contain malware of any kind. Never download WiGo.exe from any other site.

Can WiGo be set up to automatically take pictures and upload them to a web site for remote viewing?
The free version does not include those features. We are working on a WiGo Professional version that will incorporate many of the extra features that have been requested by our corporate clients. The ability to control multiple cameras with one WiFi adapter and upload the captured photos to a web site on a regular schedule is the most important feature of WiGo Pro. If this is a feature you would like to make use of, please contact us for further details or to influence our design decisions.
What versions of Windows will WiGo run on?
It has been tested on Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7 and Windows XP. There is no reason it shouldn't run on almost all Windows versions released in this century. SSID display and automated camera selection are only available in Windows 7 and 8. Users report that it works with the Windows 8 Microsoft Surface Pro Tablet.
Will it work with my camera?
It works with all 3 versions of the HERO3 Cameras and the HERO2 with the WiFi BacPac accessory. There are some features that only work with particular cameras because of the features GoPro has included or the way they have configured their firmware.
HERO3+ includes some new settings and status feedback that were not available in the previous cameras. WiGo works with the HERO3+, but not all settings. HERO4 and HERO5 is not supported.What are the users saying about WiGo?

Your program fixed my HERO3 Silver blue light problem!!!
Ever since I did the newest firmware update on my HERO3 Silver the blue WiFi lights don't work anymore. This started to cause a problem because you would never really know when the WiFi antenna was on or off. The WiFi button is very easy to activate by accident. It would turn on with out me knowing, rendering the camera battery dead when you wanted to use it. When the camera is off the only way to know the WiFi antenna is on was the blue light blinking.
I found your program online wanting to connect my GoPro to my laptop via WiFi for streaming or just something neat to have.
First of all, on my HERO3 Silver everything works perfectly!!!
I was messing around with the settings for the LEDs in WiGo. Turned the LED setting off then on and now the blue lights work again!!!! Don't know how it fixed it, but it did and has worked ever since.
Now I know when the antenna is really on or off again.

Tips & Troubleshooting
Streaming video is delayed or cuts off after a few seconds.
The delay is normal and is part of the GoPro implementation.
Some users have reported the streaming working without problems. Others seem to have it stop intermittently. Make sure the firmware in the camera is up-to-date and installed properly. Sometimes a manual install fixes problems after GoPro's automated install has appeared to work. Make sure you are using the latest version of VLC. Restart your computer after updating VLC. WiGo does no more than pass the address of the camera's streaming feed to VLC.
One VLC setting that improves streaming is under VLC - Tools - Preferences - Input & Codecs - Default Caching Policy - select Lowest Latency. There are a lot of settings which can be optimized and perhaps a VLC guru can tell us the best combination.
I see the SD Card on the HERO3 Black but there are no image files.
The latest firmware from GoPro for the HERO3 Black disabled the image file display on the camera's web server. It is possible to run a SOBM script on your SD card which will modify the firmware in the camera to show the files.
Is it possible to capture the streaming video or forward it via the internet?
Yes, it is. It can be done using the features of VLC or with utilities such as FFmpeg and FFplay. TechAnswerGuy has blogged about the process and gmore70 has created a tutorial video showing how to stream GoPro video on YouTube and UStream.
How can I extend the range from my camera to my computer?
There are several ways to do this. One is to use a range extender, which repeats signals from the computer to the camera and vice versa.
Can I control multiple cameras with one computer?
There are several ways to do this. WiGo Pro can access multiple cameras and upload photos using FTP with a single WiFi adapter by accessing them sequentially or control multiple cameras connected to separate WiFi adapters by changing the camera IP address.
Known Bugs
The video mode settings are incomplete. Some video mode settings work on some cameras, but the complete set of mode values for all of the cameras has not been implemented at this time. Some mode settings may be incorrect on some camera models and work correctly on others.

If you are using the GoPro camera for extended periods, it is better to power the camera with a Battery Eliminator instead of connecting the GoPro's USB port to a charger. These 4V Battery Eliminators are terminated with a "4.0 x 1.7mm female DC connector" (EIAJ-02) on a 27cm (11 in) cable. The center pin is positive.
The 4V Battery Eliminator does not include any voltage regulator and can be connected directly to a power source that is 3.7 to 4.2 Volts DC at 1.5 Amp. It is possible to use a LiPo cell such as are used in R/C as long as it is the single cell, 3.7 volt type. We offer (while supplies last) a V15-4V battery pack that is fitted with a short cable terminated in a male connector that is compatible with the BE-4V Battery Eliminator. The battery eliminator snaps into the battery slot of all GoPro HERO3 and HERO3+ models and latches like the GoPro lid for a secure fit.
Using a battery eliminator eliminates two sources of heat. The charging circuit in the camera and the battery itself, which gets warm while charging. Less heat makes the camera more reliable. Overheating can cause unexpected shut-down of the camera. A battery eliminator also bypasses the problems that some users have had with the GoPro camera's charging logic causing the camera to freeze and require a hard reset.

The CamDo GoPro Programmable Scheduler combines the functions of the CamDo Time Lapse Intervalometer with a programmable timer capable of storing 17 separate programs for shooting long term time lapse sequences or video at specific times on specific days.
For time lapse, the CamDo Scheduler Control is designed to turn the GoPro camera on and off to maximize the battery life. In most cases, the camera will take about 2,000 images on a single battery charge (750 on the Hero3 Black). These images can be spread over hours, days or even weeks without recharging the battery.
The ability to schedule the beginning and end times of the time lapse function lets the photographer program time lapse sequences to be shot during certain hours of the day, every day or every business day. Or, it can be used to schedule the start of a time lapse sequence up to one week ahead.
Examples:
For video, the scheduler can be programmed to shoot short video clips at multiple desired times, or to turn the GoPro camera on and shoot for several hours starting at a predetermined time after a delay of up to one week.

With the current GoPro firmware, the Intervalometer can turn the HERO3 Black, HERO3+, and HERO4 cameras on, but it cannot turn them off. The camera must be programmed to turn off after taking a photo or shooting a video of the desired length using scripts which are installed on the SD card. This allows for considerable flexibility in deciding what the camera will do when triggered by the Intervalometer. Sample HERO3+ and HERO3 Black scripts can be seen here. HERO4 scripts are structured differently, and their feature set can be seen here.
Scripts are not required for HERO2 or HERO3 White cameras.

Is the Scheduler Waterproof?
The Scheduler itself is not waterproof and does not fit inside the GoPro waterproof housings. It needs to be sheltered from the elements. The Scheduler can be attached to the camera when it is in a GoPro housing with the back removed.
CamDo offers an Outdoor Weather Resistant Enclosure designed to house the Programmable Scheduler and other CamDo controllers along with space for a high capacity battery.
How long will the battery last if I shoot some number of photos per hour?
Calculating battery life is non-trivial. It depends on the camera model, firmware version, SD card speed, lighting conditions, battery size, age of the battery, ambient temperature, and more. Does the Scheduler work with your Battery Eliminators?
We recommend using the Scheduler with a HERO3/3+ Battery Eliminator. There is a slot in the back of the scheduler for the Battery Eliminator cable to pass through.
Using the Battery Eliminator reduces heat from the camera battery and charging circuit. A Battery Eliminator also bypasses the problems that some users have had with the GoPro charging logic when charging from the camera’s USB port causing the camera to freeze and require a reset.
Our HERO4 Battery Eliminator uses the same HERO Port as the Scheduler. Therefore the two items cannot be used together. Charging a HERO4 would need to be done using the camera’s mini-USB port.
Can a solar panel be used to extend the operating time?
The shooting time can be extended using a USB battery pack or AC charger attached to the camera. A solar powered battery pack can be used to shoot until the SD card is full.
CamDo offers a complete solar system including the solar panel, a 4000 mAH battery, and a weather resistant enclosure.

Can I download images via USB while using the Scheduler?
Yes, this works very well with the Hero3 Black & White cameras. A long USB cable can be permanently connected to the camera. Plug the USB cable into a computer. The images can now be moved from the SD card to your hard drive. When you unplug the USB cable from the computer, the camera will turn off. The scheduler will resume shooting with the next image. There is no need to touch the camera. The USB cable can be plugged into a charger or large battery pack while shooting for longer battery life.
