CloudX User Manual Index

1. Introduction to CloudX

This manual describes how to get started with CloudX for your ShootX, BlinkX, or Blink. CloudX is a state of the art online time lapse platform, allowing you to monitor your time lapse camera remotely.

A subscription to the CloudX-Lite service is available on BlinkX and Blink to provides the ability for remote status monitoring of your camera, remote firmware updates, as well as daily status messages to know your system is still online and working to provide that peace of mind.

A subscription to the CloudX-Pro service is currently only available on UpBlink and ShootX. The Pro service, which includes the Lite features, allows for automatic image uploads (upto 15GB storage) and generation of a time lapse video with a click of a button.

Our CloudX service will also ensure that the camera time remains accurate by synchronizing the clock with an NTP server each time the device is connected to the internet to send information to CloudX.

2. CloudX Overview

3. CloudX Subscriptions

Each CamDo device (Blink, BlinkX, UpBlink, ShootX) includes a 2week free trial before requiring a subscription to continue the service. The trial period will begin when a new device has connected to CloudX for the first time. Once a device has connected to CloudX, it will become registered to the email address that was entered into the device for connection to CloudX. If you do not have a CloudX account associated with the email address, you will be sent a CloudX account activation email within 10minutes of either the purchase of a CloudX subscription or after your device has successfully connected to CloudX.

CloudX subscriptions require that the email address programmed into the device is the same email address that was used to purchase a subscription. If you are connecting to a different email address than what was used to make the purchase of a CloudX subscription, your device will not be able to locate the available subscriptions for this different email address. From the CloudX webpage, you can add or remove multiple email addresses to be notified from each device linked to your account as indicated in the following section.

To assign a subscription to your device, click the Subscriptions button from the CloudX overview page.
