Woodside Fire Station #7 Construction Time Lapse Video by BeJaw Productions

The Project:

Thank you to David Manzo for sharing his client’s fascinating time lapse and drone video showcasing the build of their new fire station!  The construction of the new Station #7 at 3111 Woodside Rd in Woodside, CA enabled the Fire District to meet current and future needs for the region’s fire fighting and emergency response services. The new station houses vehicles, tools, and allows firefighters to focus on community safety through immediate action and public education.

The construction time lapse video documents the construction of over 21,800 square feet of new space spanning 2 years, from breaking ground to completion. It starts with shots of the foundation work, followed by the installation of steel beams and cladding. The time-lapse was accelerated in places to highlight the framing and structural assembly. Drone footage provided aerial views of the site as the building reached its full height, while ground-level footage captured specific moments including specialized work and the installation of new equipment.

Key improvements in the new station’s design needs included:

  • An expanded apparatus bay
  • Community training room
  • Increased kitchen, restroom and sleeping quarter capacity
  • Modern emergency response systems
  • Less traffic impact
  • ADA access and up-to-date code requirements
