CamDo provides a professional grade underwater housing suitable for deep water and extreme environments, such as for munitions testing or in air or water containing corrosive chemicals. The Deep Water Housings have room for the GoPro camera and space for either aGoPro Battery BacPac or theCamDo Time Lapse Intervalometer.
The housing is carved from a solid block of aluminum and has been tested to withstand pressures of 5,000 ft (1.500m, 152 ATM, 154 BAR), or 2,300 PSI (157 Kg/cm2).
The anodized aluminum is resistant to saltwater and harsh environments.
The time lapse Intervalometer can be used to start the camera after a fixed time delay, allowing ample time for deployment and starting to shoot video, or still photos when the camera reaches the bottom. In time lapse mode, hundreds of photos can be shot over several days on a single battery charge.
Due to the thickness of the glass lens, some cropping occurs, a small price to pay for an enclosure suitable for long term immersion in deep water.

How long will the battery last before it is discharged?
The Intervalometer can be used to extend the battery life. How long the battery will last depends on many factors such as the camera you are using and the shooting schedule you have programmed. There are just too many variables to give an accurate answer.

The lens in the deep water housing is made from borosilicate. The light transmission is about 87%. Optically, it's free of distortion. It is also unaffected by temperature change. It is heat resistant up to 800 C. (The camera isn't).
