Product Code: PB-W+LED

The wired remote is a push button on a cable which plugs into our camera triggering board that attaches to the HERO Port on the back of the camera. CamDo Wired Remote allows you to turn on your GoPro to take photos or video without touching the camera. For example, you can start a helmet mounted camera using the large, glove friendly, push button. Or you can control the camera outside from inside the house or inside your car. Or start a camera mounted up high on a post. The LED light will indicate that the camera is powered on and capturing images using One Button Mode or our scripts.

NOTE: HERO4 compatibility can only be achieved through a custom firmware modification to the camera. The firmware modification is explained in detail here.

You are strongly advised to use an SD card from the recommended list on GoPro's website. Use of cards not on the list, especially SanDisk Ultra cards, will greatly increase your chance of trouble with your setup.

  • LED Indicator

    • An LED is embedded in the push button of the remote control, which will be illuminated when the camera is on, so you can always tell that it is snapping pictures or filming video.
    • LED indicator is useful in noisy environments or when the camera is located out of sight from the user.

    Adjustable Cable Length

    • The total length of the Remote Cable is about 4 feet. The cable can be extended to any length using standard off-the-shelf stereo audio extension cables. For your convenience, you can add optional extension cables in 3, 6, and 12 foot lengths.

    Low Profile Design

How to Use Your Wired Remote

Plug the push button into the camera control module. Plug the control module into your camera’s HERO Port. The push button on the remote control now operates the Power/Mode button on the camera.

HD HERO, HERO2, and HERO3 White Cameras

Enable the camera’s One Button Mode. Press and release the Remote Cable push button to turn the camera on. The camera will take a picture, or start recording video. Press and hold the button for 3 seconds to turn the camera off. You don't even have to see the camera. The distinctive 5 to 7 beeps tells you the camera is turning off.

    HERO3 Black, HERO3+ and HERO4 Cameras

When used with HERO3 Black, HERO3+, and HERO4 cameras, the remote cable will turn the camera on, but will not turn it off. When used with our Super One Button Scripts or HERO4 CSI scripts, when the camera is turned on, the scripts will command the camera to take photos and/or videos, then shut the camera down so that it can be re-triggered by the remote. One button press can therefore be used to perform a previously scripted sequence of camera functions. Most users are content with the simple script that turns the camera on, takes a photo, then turns the camera off, each time the button is pressed.
